People really underestimate the beauty industry. Doing makeup and cutting hair is mentally, physically and emotionally demanding. You’re on your feet, running around all day long, you might get 20 mins to eat and sit all day and you’re giving all your mental and emotion energy to others all day as well. But it’s also incredibly rewarding!

I don't know what they are called in english but a lot of elderly use it to do grocery shopping and it's so handy. It's not a suitcase. more like a big bag with big flexible wheels.

So I’m 63 worked the makeup counters at Macy’s in my 20’s stopped watching beauty KZbin a few years back (spending too much money lol) just started watching again recently and was very drawn to you and your work. Now I know why. I drew Zoso on everyone’s “peechee” in high school. Page was on a poster above my bed. Saw them in concert 07/17/77 Seattle and still my all time favourite band. Recently took my son to see a cover band locally and when my son was 16 took him to a concert at a festival outside of London with Robert Plant headlining and met Deborah Bonham (johns sister) who was performing at the event too. Ah Nikki! I’ve been watching from the early days of your channel and you are such a delight. You present your knowledge with such grace and charm. We recently started homeschooling our kids and we love it. Love seeing successful and creative homeschoolers out in the world. Edit to add my 7-year-old is a Capricorn and I’m so gonna call him the Sour Patch kid from now on- it’s too accurate. Adding: have you guys been to the Zimmerman car museum in El Segundo? You can sit in all the old cars and on Sundays the have the cutest volunteers that will drive you around. There’s also an ice cream shop inside. Highly recommend! Oh my gosh! Where do I start? I could listen to you all day. First of all I love your heart. I too am in the same industry where our clients really do tell us their heart and soul, and sometimes, depending on the day, it can be so hard. We try so hard to be evertything to them. I can’t tell you over the 44 years that I’ve done hair, that I’ve wanted to go home and pull the covers over my head. I use to work at least 10 hours a day with out a break until one day , I went home and cried and cried. I was so tired, and emotionally drained, I had to call 25% of my clientele and refer them on. It was hard. I understand u. A therapist once told me, you really need to take time for your self each week. Do something you love Nikki for you. I love that u and Mitch have an incredible relationship and friendship. I watched him do your makeup today also and laughed my a$$ off. I have also heard him do a voice over on one of your videos. It was hilarious. I can’t believe he knows all the language. So sweet. You are so talented. Have a joyful life. Do what you heart desires. I can say, if I was going to do anything any different, I would have had kids. They add so many other layers of life compared to just working . Anyway, stay strong, and ignore mean people. A really pivotal moment in my life was meeting a woman in college who I immediately clicked with. She’s Latina, but americanized like me and really into makeup and fashion and her roots were in SoCal (she gave me a blue Mac eyeshadow pot I still own in my own sentimental memory of our friendship).
