Just a short while back, Nikhil Kamath posted about how the made-in-India 'makhana' is becoming a superfood for the world... and how there was scope to really build on this. A few months ago, even Anand Mahindra echoed that sentiment.
Now .. the finance minister made it official - India IS going to capitalise on the not-so-humble-anymore makhana, which is also called 'fox nut' and 'plant pop'. The government is going to set up a makhana board in Bihar .. which will help improve its production, processing, and marketing... and also train and support makhana farmers and ensure they get benefits to government schemes.

Makwana super nutrious food more on demand got due recognition from GOI and now its production is to be increased many folds .Surely bihar farmers are going to boost income and benefitting the back ward bihar.

The original farmers don't make much money, whole family is involved in the production and in turn only make 100 Kgs of makhana in a season and middle men buy it at cheap rates.

Possibly every state don't have the same climate, Labour requirement must be huge , as mentioned in the vedio possibly it will be accepted by other states because center is investing I building a chain .

Other states can never grow makhana. They don't have the suitable climate conditions, water logged conditions, traditional knowledge passed on by their ancestors plus cheap labour like in Bihar!
