Makhana namkeen is a delicious and easy to prepare namkeen recipe for navratri fasts. Lotus seeds namkeen is best to consume as it's loaded with antioxidants.
Ingredients
Lotus seeds - 50 grams
Ghee - ½ cup
Chaat masala - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder- ¼ tsp
Salt - ¼ tsp or to taste
Directions
Getting ready:
1.Start cleaning the lotus seeds or phool makhana for making the namkeen.
Making:
2.Heat a pan with ghee in it and fry them on medium hot flame until crisp and turn little brown. Then drain out the seeds on a plate.
3.Sprinkle chaat masala, black pepper powder and salt over these piping hot lotus seeds and mix thoroughly. Lotus seeds namkeen is ready to be served.
Serving:
4.Serve this crispy lotus seeds namkeen anytime when fasting or with a steaming cup of tea or coffee.
Suggestions
While stir frying the lotus seeds keep the flame low. Store them in a container only when they cool down completely.
You can skip chaat masala if you want. Only salt and pepper also goes well with this namkeen.
