I'm actually a homebrewer, I just had an 11% traditional mead ferment & clear out in 4. Yes I use a hydrometer they're like $10 Also bulk aging is good and you don't have to rush to rack or bottle, leave it sit for a while, you'll thank me.

That’s because mine days isn’t remotely long enough for fermentation to finish. Primary should take a few weeks, depending on the yeast. And this video doesn’t even mention racking into secondary for aging or backsweetening or anything like that.

Simply by putting it in the fridge most of the stuff falls out of suspension.
@seanlydon972
@seanlydon972 Жыл бұрын
Putting it in the fridge isn't necessary, the sediment at the bottom will appear whether you put it in the fridge or not because the yeast multiply and die as they ferment. This causes them to fall to the bottom. To clear it you can cold crash for a couple of days, but to really clear it up, I'd recommend a fining agent like sparkeloid.

@@masonmax1000 I wouldn’t recommend CSB. I’ve watched a good amount of their content, and myself and others have concluded that there’s a lot of misinformation there that can result in brews that don’t come out right. For example, the whole rough racking thing was oxidizing the brew, which completely fouls it. They’ve improved somewhat, but there’s still a lot there that I would recommend a beginner to avoid doing. Plus, it isn’t a good look when you have to remove content for being misinformed and also possibly very dangerous. Remember flavor carpet?
