Everything about the mould was almost spot on. i would change to chopped strand mat next time, that will eliminate alot of traped air.

You simply can't use chopped strand mat in this kind of process. Every material we used is exactly what Easy Composites recommends to achieve professional quality in this kind of product, which is suitable for high-temperature use.

@@rakashi.workshop Yes you can use chopped strand matt. the resin desolves the binder and all the smal fibers gets into the small corners. I have done more complex shapes then this myself

@@capitao2259 I believe they used epoxy based mold materials, not polyester resin. So the binder wouldnt dissolve

@@andrewd081452 There is glasfiber out there that is designed to use with epoxy were the binder desolves. i use it myself...

Можно было бы сразу матрицу на 3Д принтере печатать без мастер-модели. Препрег отведить при небольшой температуре, чтобы пластик не повело и не поплавило, а потом извлечь его из матрицы и уже допечь при более высокой температуре.

If you use ASA or abs I would have vapour smoothed it. Save a day of sanding

Why didn't you print the mold itself?
@rakashi.workshop4 ай бұрын
Because printed molds would melt in the oven during the curing process.
