I'm trying to inject more life into my work, so I'm using miniatures. But I want to use interesting poses: poses that pose questions.
What is this person doing? What are they thinking? Why are they there?
That's why I chose this stunning 1/35 scale US Airborne miniature from Stalingrad Miniatures.
I wanted to set him in a context unusual to WWII dioramas: what looks to be a peaceful river scene, next to a beautiful old oak tree. But look a little closer and you can see muddy footprints in the field above. Whose were those footprints?
Thanks to Noch, Diorama Presepe and Hot Wire Foam Factory for gifting me their products as featured in this video.

This is story-telling at its very best....a small vignette packing a lot of punch! Beautiful scene, evocative and portraying the impact of conflict and all it brings upon humanity. Excellent job indeed.

I think he is Private Ryan, the first few minutes after the initial shock has passed. He is thinking about his childhood and the games he played with his late brothers. Then their teen years, the first parties, the first girls and such. Fantastic work as always. I would expect none the less from you Merrick.

That soldier is probably thinking about all his friends who died in battle and will never return to their home... and he might be next. Apart from that, the diorama is incredible! Good job, keep it up! 👏

Its the first 48 hours of DDAY, Private schofield has been split up from his company thats apart of the 82nd airbourne after winds took him far from his dropzone. Upon landing schofield secure his chute away out of sight and proceeded to move through a somewhat dense woodland area with an erie silence to it, as if the animals had all packed up and left. After proceeded for a few mins schofield hears voices in the direction of a road he can make out through the forest that dont appear to be speaking english. He decides to drop back and move parrelel with the road til he comes across a small stream and decides to wait a while before he carrys on his journey to find friendly forces.
