This was so much fun. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together in part two. They’re both so nice and helpful. I couldn’t help but notice though you called the wood in your skin as Sliver, I’ve only ever called it a Splinter here in Canada.

Some parts of the US call it a sliver. In New Jersey we call them splinters.
