I also like that you went to the extend of repainting the door panels... Record Power aren't that bad; just expensive. ;-) I do agree that every workshop should have two bandsaws. This is what I'm aiming for when I find my next workshop.

What did make me laugh was you painted the green panels :). I painted my old Charnwood planner panels Felder grey last year to match my other machines , I even took a part from the FB510 to have it matched lol.. keep up the good work

Cool idea , I am always changing blades on my big bandsaw for the odd curved which is such a waste of time , so I often use my jigsaw which is also a pain>!

Same here, switching blades from wide to narrow is quite the task, I only bothered for large batches of work and then usually left the narrow blade on there for days.

hey. Nice work. I might consider a stand like this for my shop. Just out of curiosity- I noticed you use a lot of beech for your shop furniture. Is there a particular reason why you chose beech or is that just what you have available?

It's partly because it's what I always have in stock, but also because it happens to be the traditional species for workbenches and anything that needs to resist wear.

As you can see it can hold my weight, the plywood is 18mm birch and I placed it at a slight upward angle. I'm pretty sure it can hold many times more weight than this.

I have 3 phase 380V, my main dust extractor is a Felder RL160. This band saw is too far from the dust collection system to be connected so I'll make up something else.

Is your saw sufficient? Is not the quick adjustment for the belt tension a reason for buying the bs350? Would you buy the saw again? Finally I wish you always enough orders for your work. Andi

Hi Andi, I already have a large band saw (Hammer N4400) so I wanted a second smaller one for curved work. That usually doesn't require as much power. I didn't want it to be too big, I was hesitating between this and the 250mm. At this point I haven't used it enough to give an opinion but if it were my only band saw, then it would certainly be way too small for the kind of work I have to do.

Are the taper cuts you are making at the beginning of the video experience, a steady hand, having the fence at the front of the workpiece or some trick up your sleeve??? As always, EXCELLENT work and work flow and interesting to watch.

I was really just eyeballing it on the pencil mark, wasn't looking for absolute precision. I could have angled the cross cut fence, but it wasn't worth the trouble.

I guess what I was trying to say without sounding critical...is not "free-handing" a taper cut like you made a somewhat dangerous operation? Or, is it made safe because you are essentially moving the sliding table, and not the workpiece, past the blade?

It's "safe" in the way that it's immobile on the sliding table, doing this on a non-slider would indeed be way too dangerous.

Hey Brenden, ik heb TSO gedaan in land en tuinbouw. En later avondschool schrijnwerkerij in Herstal. de paneelzaag is een Felder K700s, excacte prijs weet ik niet meer maar ergens rond de 6000.

I bought it from Baptist in Arnhem, I give some more details on the website article but I have only had it for a few weeks and haven't received good blades for it yet (the stock blade is not the best) so I can't really give an informed opinion yet.

I was thinking about getting the Felder panel Saw that you have. I was looking at getting the electric blade movement and fence movement. I noticed that you don't have that. Is there a reason why you don't

If you have the budget then it's a must have, I kinda regret not having the automatic parallel fence, it didn't seem necessary at the time and I was stretching my budget already. The electric blade movement is less useful on a saw IMO, really helpful on the shaper and planer, but on the saw I don't often need to cut at exact depths. (last week I installed a digital gauge on the wheel that raises the saw, it's just as accurate but not designed to be reset to 0 like electronic read outs can)

It's hard to say because the stock blade was rubbish, and the custom made Swedish chrome steel blades I had made were even worse. Without a good blade I can't tell yet.

I'd say the build quality is decent when compared to the price, they obviously have to cut corners to meet a price point. But then I don't think anything significantly better exists in the size range? It is really going to depend on how it works with good blades, I have heard good things about these whith good blades.

I've had it about 10 years now. It works fine for occasional use, never used it on an industrial scale. I think the guides could be improved. there are some excellent after market ones available. I use Tuffsaws. Superb blades and advice if required. www.tuffsaws.co.uk/
