Why does that sound like passive saltiness? Haha That’s almost the least of it, what you do with the soundest you pick out is ultimately where all the magic is.

Don't think I've ever learned as many creative techniques in a video than this one... ty so much memblem one of my biggest problems isn't that I can't be creative, it's just that I don't know what tools are at my disposal, so this was a huge help!

Your short videos are great and this longer form is just as good if not better. You're making some of the hippest shit out there right now and getting to see your thought process behind it is awesome. Presentation is excellent and entertaining, just enough little funny stuff without being as OTT as a lot of other KZbinrs.

those stereo sounding bass samples man, I'd kill for them. maybe you should make a pack or a more in-depth tutorial on how to get those clean 808 sounds
@jackhammer8061
@jackhammer8061 4 жыл бұрын
Just parallel process them with a stereo layer, it’s totally straight as long as you low cut that layer to cut out all the sub frequencies. < Add that low cut at the very end of the chain so all the processing, distortion/saturation ect gets added to the entire freq range of the sample and when you low cut at the end it’s like having your cake & eating it too cuz even tho the sub range is cut out you still preserve everything else. You can add stereo width with the HAAS effect in Live’s delay, filter delay or echo plugins. Infected Mushroom has a really dope free plugin called Widener for that too that doesn’t mess up the phase no matter how hard you push it. I’d recommend just making a audio effect rack, creating a extra chain, leave one of them empty(thus making it parallel), throwing use Overdrive and/or Saturation or even Echo’s analog style saturation(if you bring the wetness all the way down, & click the “d” button right next to the feedback knob the plugin becomes just a saturation. Super dope one at that) and saving the stereo width at the end of the chain right before the EQ low cut.

This is dope af! I only have one question; When you say "in front of the beat", do you actually mean "behind the beat" since the sample is coming in after the beat? or are you thinking in terms of the grid being in front of the beat you are creating?

I don't personally make these kinda beats but maybe I'll start and switch things up a bit. I really like how you mesh it all together, it always reminds me of Timbaland's groove (can't find any better way to explain it since I hate comparing artists to other artists if that makes sense, lol). I like these kinda videos. Keep it up!
