Amazing how very fast they work, expect the workers are paid by the finished set of tasks per day, and the finished works appear lovely and likely more affordable than an individual artisan handcraft. However, there are some corners cut in order to complete pieces quickly and economically, such as they didn't select the glass based on how striations in the color patterns fit the overall design or putting a raised 'bead' on the solder flow over the copper foil and in some places using large portions of soldier to close open spaces between glass pieces rather than tightly fitting the glass. Still the finished products appear to be very decorative, and I do love how well the fixtures and bases are duplicated from the art nouveau originals.

Thanks for this interesting video! I am always amazed at how fast professional glass workers do their job. Just as with another of your videos, please explain why the foiled pieces are placed in a container and then shaken. I have also seen the use of a hot air gun on those pieces in another video. Does that help the foil attach to the glass? Very hard to meet their prices as seen on their link.

Appears that when they wrap the glass with the copper foil strips, they press down the sides a bit but don't take the time to go around the whole piece by hand. Looks like shaking several pieces in the closed container forces the glass pieces to bounce against each other thereby pressing the copper foil down to the glass sides. Going to have to try that process one day.

normally you use a special implement to rub the foil thight against the glass. Here a shortcut is used by shaking the pieces against each other to accomplish that. But soldering water can creep under the foil easily if you don't push the foil very good against the glass.

Why spend all this time cutting glass just to do a poor job on copper foil and solder, poor quality, will not last long before its in the trash. Its pretty as a finished product but quality matters

Tiffany products used to be considered some of the best products produced, everything was made exclusively in America. For the price they still charge for their products, it is sad to see that they have outsourced to China. They can more than afford to continue to manufacture in the US.

Do they still make them? Isn't that company over?

@@lauracarolinarinconortegon4658 Tiffany still exists. I don't know if they still make legacy products, but they still make jewelry.

This is not a Tiffany Stained glass product. They are simply using the foiling method which is often called Tiffany style. However, this product is not using quality stained glass nor are they following the proper stained glass process. The burnishing is not being done properly and then soldering is rushed.

Please do not look at these as quality products. There have been many corners cut for the sake of offering these at a cheap price to the consumer. These will not last!
