Nice simple design. Doable with basic tools also. However, I would include a safety - feature by means of a sliding block of wood above the spinning blades that slides away when a piece of wood is pushing against it when planed. Not that hard to construct... Nice work!

This is the first time I've heard of this model... I think it's not sold in Japan, so, I don't know the details. I'm surprised there's a planer that can't be attached with a dust collection hose.

Soo dangerous. My dad had his hand sliced up by doing something like this. Not worth the risk
