Another option for padding the cups is to use thin batting. It not entirely the same as the foam cups are shaped and are firmer, but it best used for filling in gaps. I use it to support pleating, draping or ruching over the bust.

YES! Absolutely you can! I did not add that in this one- just because I had in mind something else. But you make a good point. Yes thin batting works too- to shape out. You can use that also in vests, bodices etc. To create the shapes you are looking for. Thank you for the added point :)

Did you use the Lengeberg bra bodice for the inspiration for your linen bra? I have been thinking of making myself some linen underthings for modern wear, but I've never made bras before so the exact fitting is intimidating.

I did. My first one was a replica from that bodice inspiration, right around the time the first published find of the “bra” since then I have just kept adapting more to what i am comfortable with. The side closures as I got older and my physical handicaps have gotten worse, the side laceing at hot and sweaty events is not “practical” for me. So that is another reason why i am adapting it again :) so probably the 3rd or 4th iteration, is this video.

I was wondering about your scissors and what the make. Look forward to the Ottomon video. Also was wondering if or when you make more Roman, chiton, peplos if you would video that as well. Hugs miss your face.

The scissors I am using with the cut out of the bra seem to be the fiskars, that have the spring in them. I try and use them when the pain in my hands is worse- and on any day that i have multiple types of fabric i am working on. I am careful not to use my really expensive Japanese scissors on anything but silk, linen and cotton. The fishers have also cut poly etc. I also have MULTIPLE kinds of scissors, for paper, for certain fabrics, for trim, for threads in embroidery. I think some people have “collections” of spoons i apparently “collect” scissors. Lol
