Making a brake pedal lock - Suzuki Carry - project lemon

It may be a bit of a lemon but it's my lemon. Providing another method of security by fabricating a brake or clutch pedal lock. The only cost was the £16 lock, the rest was time and s rap metal. I even had the painful lying around.

I purchased the commercial version of this, it's fine, and they're more than up to the job. If they really want your car, they'll take it, no matter what.

I agree, modern criminals don't go around with hacksaws, they go aound with disc cutters and know what they're doing. Just have to try and make their lives harder.👍🏻

These have been popular for theft for past few years...they seem to be stolen in waves... last year about 10 were stolen from Kent and south east...I wouldn't buy another as too much worry. ..great little vans !

Yes, starting to realise that now, it gets so much attention when I go out in it and that's not always a good thing. Got a wheel clamp yesterday as extra protection. Problem is that thieves normally have cordless angle grinders in their arsenal, can't do much about those.👍🏻

Appreciate it, thanks for watching. The height was 20 cms but I measured that against the height of the pedal. Different vehicles will have different heights though 👍🏻

Hi i changed my steering wheel on my carry for Sports Momo Type and they also do a quick release hub adaptor to remove the steering wheel

I've seen those, it's a good idea but you then lose the air bag. These things don't have much protection as it is😁.

Most thieves are equipped with the tools to get through most physical security measures, it's more about making life harder for them. If they want it they'll take it.

If you added a plate to cover the pedal they will not be able to use a hack saw to cut the end off the pedal

I figure that if they've got equipment with them then they'll be ready for any situation, bit like steering wheel locks. It's more for deterring opportunists.👍🏻

That’s a very good idea and well made. 👏 I have a silent alarm installed thanks the the previous owners. 😅 I reckon 4 men could pick a carry up and walk away with her so I’m definitely going to try make something like this. What year is yours? Mine is a 2000. ✌️

I saw a similar lock on ebay for £10 and thought I could do a better job. Mines a 2003. I agree, if someone wants to steal it they will. Thanks for watching 😁👍🏻
