This week we have a very special film for you celebrating ten thousand subscribers! We visited Yorkshire on holiday recently and we took some doll pieces to build our very own Bronte doll. While we were there we also visited their home in Haworth and filmed some of the beautiful museum. There is also a special guest voice appearance by the wonderful Tom Burleigh who has kindly read an excerpt of Jane Eyre at the end of the film. We really hope you enjoy this video as it was made with love for, and a homage to, the wonderful Bronte sisters and their outstanding work!

I love Haworth. Did you see the Apothecary, on the cobbled slope? I spent ages in there, absolutely thrilled with everything I saw...and the book shop further down the slope? 😍 Such a wonderful place. Well, I think Bronte is charming, you dressed her very well and she looks like she's strolled along the moors😊 if her face bothers you too much, you could always make her a bonnet with ribbons for ties and that will cover the sides of her face, either way, I think she's adorable.

She's adorable. I think you had a great idea of calling her Heather, even though I know you ended up just calling her Bronte. Why can't she be Heather Bronte, a cousin visiting from Yorkshire? 😉 I really appreciate your dedication. You make videos even when you're on vacation. I know it's not the first time you've done that. It's very kind of you to interrupt your trip to take the time to share your experiences with us. Thank you! 🤗

You do your dolls so well from various parts. The leg with the flat sole is from about 1860. The other leg with the high heel is newer about 1890. The head is also 1860. In future if you have dried lavender. You can add some to a doll's stuffing.

I visited Haworth over 20 years ago and it looks the same. Beautiful scenery but a forlorn and harsh place to live, constant wind, green but isolated and I understand why they were all sickly. I give you proper credit for trying to do a doll on location! That is way out of the normal comfort zone of KZbin. You guys really do like a challenge! Thank you for a great video and a beautiful trip in time.

If you were ever to see me, you would not think in a million years, that I would know about the Brontë sisters or be interested in dolls and such, but one of my all-time favorite stories is Wuthering Heights. And the original black and white movie still haunts me to this day. The fact that you lovely ladies took your doll making skills out to the Wiley windy Moores and commenced to starting that wonderful doll right out in such a historic and phenomenal setting is just FASCINATING! The use of the local Heather and ‘found’ doll parts just took me away to a home I’ve never seen. Oh, thank you so much for this! Just phenomenal! I just Love what you Ladies do!💎❤️💎

Thank You Lovelies, for this captivating share of the making of Bronte Heather. All her bits seemed uniquely appropriate, at the end of the day. ( : A suggestion for dying fabrics: Gather a variety of leaves, bark, nut shells, berries and flower petals to experiment with. Whether fresh or dry., should do the job. Tip: If you left the heather in the water only briefly, before placing the fabric into it, I feel it would have been more yellow, rather than beige. Tom Burleigh's voice can stir the soul, as well as soothe the savage beasts. Good choice for the reading, adding more complexity to your already wonderful video.

Love the 👗. I think my favorite. Would indeed like to see others in that series. Kate, if you would like a buttercup yellow, you can get that result using lilac leaves. The mordant I liked to use for natural dying with plants is alum, which you can get in canning supplies or from the pharmacy, or at least you can i the States. It is not toxic. Have fun. You really can never be entirely sure what you get but that is part of the fun. Berries can be used. They are a stain rather than a dye and need to mordant. Flowers generally do not dye the color of the flower. Maybe you can find a workshop. That is always fun.

When I visited the parsonage, I was struck by how small Charlotte’s dress was, and the early very tiny writing was amazing. Imagine the staggering genius that lived in that house! Also, if Charlotte’s husband had not stepped in to preserve everything, we wouldn’t have anything to visit today.

They had scruples, values and principles that they lived by. Whereas today "wrong" is "right" and "right" is "wrong". Not all but most people nowadays choose to give themselves over to brazen conduct because it's their "right". Back then they lived by propriety, dignity and self pride. People nowadays see propriety and all that as an offence to their rights.
