Kenny, nice progress so far. Thanks for including the links to the various parts and pieces. I guess one way or another you are going to get me to try spiral scroll saw blades...lol. While I do have a supply of them “just in case” they tend to collect dust in my shop. Looking forward to the final chapter of this build and to hearing the music flow from it.

I'm not so sure about music "flowing" from this one Paul. But you will hear a little bit of a sound test. Glad that you were able to see the link to the parts. I also added them to part 1 of the build as well. Thanks for tuning in to the show sir. Now get back in the shop and get the dust off those spiral blades. LOL.

I think that neck may of had a back angle by design. Some stringed instruments have a slight back angle to accommodate the string tension.
@acutabove_woodworkings3 жыл бұрын
That may be a possibility Joe but having a back angle with an instrument that takes nylon strings is pointless in my opinion. There isn't enough tension in the ukulele strings to correct the back angle once the string are fully tensioned. Thanks for tuning in to the show and taking the time to leave your comment. I truly appreciate it.
@JoePalumbo2213 жыл бұрын
@@acutabove_woodworkings it's possible. I'm in the process of building one too and was wondering if I needed a back angle. I may not.
@acutabove_woodworkings3 жыл бұрын
@@JoePalumbo221 There isn't much tension in a ukulele string. It's the reason that there isn't a truss rod as well.

I’ve been wanting to build an ukulele with a bear claw sound hole. Where did you get the drawing you used to make the template? Thanks. Love the build.
@acutabove_woodworkings3 жыл бұрын
Glad that you liked the project Dana. All I did for the bear claw sound hole was google images of "grizzly paw silhouette". I then just chose the one that appealed to me the most. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show and taking the time to leave a comment. Good luck on your build.

Can you glue the neck before screwing it together? or is the paper on the outside a problem?
