Hi Guys! Im Senior wireless engineer, and i used this equipment many times in WISP's in brazil. My best link with this equipments was a link of 5.4 km where it was possible to reach 774mb fullduplex for a datacenter client, with this solution of 24ghz. I strongly recommend that the links be in the range of 3 to 4km for an excellent performance and that the maximum EIRP power that the equipment delivers in each case is respected. This is one of the best Backhaul radios on the market, with truly superior performance.

Hi there? I looking for wireless antenna range between 7-11km. You mean it is not working with full performance with above 4km?

By using the Airlink planner, with it using Google's maps/earth API, it has access to Google's excellent elevation model, which in most major cities is based on LIDAR data.

Could you please recommend an airfiber model that is best in our university. We have a second building still under construction and expected to be finish within 6 months. The distance of the main and second building is about 8km.
@cyberentomology7 жыл бұрын
One quick note about the PoE injector - it's 56V/2A (so that the voltage drop going up the tower gets it to 48V) and most PoE surge arrestors do their thing at 50V, so you're going to want to make sure your surge arrestors go to 75V, or drop 10 bucks on Ubiquiti's surge arrestor which will work.

Do you have a video of actually installing the Air fiber 24hd and how you line them up
@suleimanadams99117 жыл бұрын
Just watched the video and i think you guys nailed it. Just ordered a pair of airFiber24s and i was planning to use an EIRP of 43 to get a strength of about -39 at a distance of 756m with a clear line of sight. What do you guys think? I am pretty open to suggestions and tips on how to twerk the configs for better throughput and performance
@WiFiofEverything7 жыл бұрын
If you've gone through the planner you should be okay. Just be sure to watch that RSSI. You don't want it it too hot.

Alright. DO you think its possible to create a mesh network with 3 or more of these APs or just get several pairs and separate them on individual pair links
@WiFiofEverything7 жыл бұрын
These radios are specifically PtP. What are you trying to achieve?
@suleimanadams99117 жыл бұрын
I have 4 buildings which hypoheticalay we call A, B, C and D. We need B and C to connect to both A and D. So rather than getting 4 pairs to connect B and C to A and. I was thinking i could put 3 pairs. Where B and C would have a single Ubiquiti AP to connect to both A and D. I hope you understand my analogy.
@WiFiofEverything7 жыл бұрын
I think I get it. You may be looking more into a PtMP solution. But if you route your traffic, you should be able to get connectivity to each building going through the PtP links.

Can this work in the Philippines? We have very poor internet here in the provinces.

Can these be used to make my own private internet service? I'm looking for something around 1000mbps. I thought about buying two of these. Do they stack in data uplink and downlink?

Hi,I looking sell internet in my country, could I put this on my tower and then the customer install a litebeam or a Nanobeam with a router inside?
@wifilabxyz3 жыл бұрын
yes u can, all u need is a pair of these as your backhaul. install ac sectors and let your litebeam and nanobeam connect to it.

Hi, thanks for your helpful video, I wanted to know how to get access to other side of PTP link without going access device at site, getting access to device from one side?
@WiFiofEverything6 жыл бұрын
You must give the other radio an IP address for management.
@MTL5436 жыл бұрын
you mean in the Network tab ? or somewhere else
@WiFiofEverything6 жыл бұрын
Mustafa Taheri I meant give it a management IP and you can access it from anywhere (assuming routing and ACLs in place.)

Hi I have a few questions about air fibre When you buy the an airfibre 24 ( or any of the other models ) do you just need the one receiver for it all to work ? What is the minimum Mbps you would get if Configured correctly ? Lastly do you need a license even if your using it for personal use ( not as a business)
@Mike-kr5dn5 жыл бұрын
Isn't 24ghz without a license? Ubiquiti has it on their site.
@Kona-Op6 жыл бұрын
You aren't running the newest firmware, by far. The newest as of today is v.4.0.3, you can download at this link: www.ubnt.com/download/airfiber/airfiber24/af24/airfiber-af2424hd-firmware-v403 The v4 interface is much cleaner and just as easy to use. I updated my firmware today.

I have a link at 5.32 miles at -71 to -73. Unfortunately rain fade is a thing.
@WiFiofEverything7 жыл бұрын
What city do you live in? Rain fade is definitely a factor. Ubiquiti should factor this into the AirLink tool.
@GregAspenson7 жыл бұрын
We have the link in Northeast Iowa. Moderate rainfall we lose 5-6 db, heavy rainfall 10 or more. We do have 5ghz backup though.

I think if you look closely at the TX Power lines on the main screen, they say EIRP in brackets? What does the FCC say for max power in 24 GHz?
