Surrender is living in the state of realization that I did not create the reality in which I exist. The reality in which I exist created me. The flow of life (reality) has always been in control, pushing and pulling me. Molding and shaping me. Blessing me and teaching me difficult lessons. Putting it's foot on my neck until I finally stopped fighting. Until I accepted the lessons it had been trying to teach me all along. The only control humans truly have is in the decision to fight reality ( jihad جهاد) or surrender (Islam إسلام ) to it. And peace can only be achieved through surrender. The longer we think we are in control, the longer we fight. The harder we fight the more we suffer. اشهد ان لا الله الا الله وأشهد أن محمد رسول الله

Wisdom is a process of learning, experiencing, unlearning, reflecting, integrating, and finally becoming. It requires activity, then stillness. Engagement, then disengagement. Fighting, then surrendering. Captivation, then disillusionment. Participating, then observing. Attachment, then detachment. Strengthening the ego, then killing it. Trauma, then healing. Being proud, then being humbled. Chasing, then attracting. Rejecting, then accepting. Hating, then forgiving. Competing, then collaborating. When the mind begins to teach itself, it begins processing every experience as a lesson. Truth is no longer known, but it is felt and experienced. This is the manifestation of wisdom. It has nothing to do with how much we know, but the quality of understanding.
