I'm danish and I have absolutely no idea why that's called danish oil. Cool lamp!

Thanks. It was my understanding that in the 20th century a lot of modern looking wooden furniture was coming out of that part of the world and they developed a low sheen finish similar to Tung Oil. People around the world just started calling it Danish oil and it stuck.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I did consider doing that but I didn't want it to get too "campy". It is a fine line! lol
