After your last double crochet of the row, chain 2 and then slip stitch. Then chain 5 and continue. Hope this helps.

I think you need to crochet less tight or use a smaller needle. It seems like you are struggling through the stitches

It could also be the type of hook they're using. It's not rounded on the inside like most hooks, and a lot of times, it makes it harder to pull through the loops. (At least in my experience.🤷‍♀️)

It's because you're doing a double crochet in every 3 chains. If it's not a multiple of 3 then it will be uneven!

@@Wheretherealityfadesaway not really....... it depends what size you want lol. Multiples of 3 means the multiplication table for 3. So 3, 6, 9, 12, etc. Just keep adding 3 chains until you get the length you want.
