How I made a custom Aged Ghostface from the Scream 6 trailer for my husband!
A repaint of a mask!

-Ghostface mask (I used a bootleg as the surface was firmer and more textured)
-Mr Super Clear flat matte spray sealant
-Apoxie sculpt clay
-Folkart matte acrylic paint
-soft pastels
-watercolour pencils

The fake mask was originally from eBay, however the original listing has been deleted, I am in the process of weeding out the other listings to find the same bootleg masks that are made of the same stiff material that this one had. Hello! Glad you like the video! Yes no problem! The mask is doing great! Nothing has flaked or chipped off and doesn’t look like it’s going to any time soon! The mask looks exactly the same as when I first customised it! The mask was worn once for the photos in the video and then has been on display on a polystyrene head since. Yes I am making some more- I am trying to source the same masks I used for this video, the original listing has disappeared so I’m making my way through the other listings trying to find ones with the same texture and material, I honestly don’t have an exact number for how much I would charge, I would need to calculate hours taken and materials used as well as profit into account!

This is such a good one right?! After collecting for a while you pick up on the little giveaways of fakes, but this one in particular came with no card tag, no inside hood fabric tag and it stank of chemicals instead of vanilla and did not glow in the dark 😊

@@insaneLeeCreating I have one that looks exactly like the one you used in this video. It came with a tag, it had an inside tag as well… But doesn’t smell like vanilla. My understanding is that most recent ones don’t smell like vanilla, except the 25th anniversary one.

Exactly! ☺️ the fact that this one has all four of these things missing tells me it’s a fake, plus the strange stiff, texture of this mask was a big giveaway. Hope this helps!

Do you think this would work on an Ultra White? Struggling to find a decent EU bootleg online atm!

If you did try any mask that starts with a shiny/glossy/smooth surface, I would prime it with a matte flat spray varnish like Mr Super Clear, this will give the mask a texture that will allow the materials to adhere better, the mask that I used in this video though is stiffer than any other mask I’ve found before so you would need to try to not bend it if it’s quite flexible 😊

do you have any tips for working with the apoxie sculpt? That’s the only part that makes me nervous 😅

It does take some getting used to compared to other clay materials! My main tip is to wet your tools, it really helps smooth out the Apoxie Sculpt so it looks seamless! It took a few tries of this clay for me to love it! Hope that all helps! 🖤

I’m afraid I cannot give an alternative as I’ve never used an alternative that can do what this stuff does, but it is worth the investment in my opinion as I use the 8oz tubs, I have had them for 3 years and I’ve used about 10% of the tubs, a little really does go a long way!

Yay! How exciting! My favourite sealing to use is a spray matte sealant. The one I use most often is Mr Super Clear :) can’t wait to see it- you on Instagram?

What are you using to apply the apoxie, it’s very difficult to get it onto make mask without having a lot of bumps and make it looking seamless.

I use silicone tools and my fingers to apply it, I then use water to smooth it out :)

Of the Apoxie? If so then yes, you will need to use both parts A and B to get the Apoxie to work as intended :) I used the ‘natural’ colouring (apoxie comes in MANY different colours!)

If you want the bootleg mask, you can also find them on AliExpress. I got mine from there and it’s a good mask for a bootleg. Only difference is that the rubber mask itself is thin compared to a standard EU plus there is a different smell. However the price for the mask won’t put a dent in your wallet.

Hello! You’re not the only person to be unsure of this! This mask I used was an unusual one, it was a fake my husband had found on eBay from one of those sellers that seem o ell anything and everything on mass! The texture was satin finish like, and was made of a rubber-like material but was far firmer while still retaining flexibility, when we went to try and find the original listing, it had been removed. I am working my way through the different sellers/listings that look similar but so far haven’t found anything that is the same, as soon as I do I will add the link to the description of this ghostface mask video! If you plan on making an aged mask for display only, use a mask that is firmer so the clay won’t flake off, and always prime with a Matt finish primer!

Ahhh! I do talk fast, I will try to slow down 😅 it’s called Apoxie Sculpt, it a clay that cures when the two parts are mixed together, I always list my materials in the description just incase I forget to say them in the voiceover 😊
