Wonderful. You strike a great balance between technical know-how and self evident wonder at what you make and what you see. Artistry at it's best. Compelling and informative. Great stuff. Thank you.

A great book for dye is India Flints....also you should make sure folks know NOT to use pots for food after, can be poisonous. You can actually get a red from Bamboo shoots.

I wonder if a color more true to what we see in the leaves could be achieved by pressing and drying the leaves (rather than boiling them to extract the chlorophyll), then grinding them in a mortar and pestle until they are a fine dry powder?
@NadaMakes1
@NadaMakes1 4 жыл бұрын
Thats a great point! I admit I havent really explored grinding down the source material first
@AuntieHauntieGames
@AuntieHauntieGames 4 жыл бұрын
@@NadaMakes1 Thanks. I do imagine it would take a lot of time to get it into a fine enough powder though, so maybe that is why people do it this way. XD

How long did you mule (is that the right word?) the pigment in the oil for? Some pigments do take a looooong time until fully spread in the oil to make the best possible paint out of them.
@NadaMakes1

@@NadaMakes1 well that explains it. So when it's a dye one needs to use alum and wash powder, but when it is a pigment one doesn't? Is that correct? I really get a kick out of your videos.
