Being able to take a full ash or oak tree and split it out like this is a dream to do some day. Unfortunate part of being in the middle of Canadian prairie is the lack of good straight trees for chair making. We have Green Ash (the tree name) but it tends to be either small specimens or pretty twisted stuff so I keep an eye out for trees coming down here in the city to one day do these kind of projects.

That chair is esquisite. I have seen quite a lot of Windsor chairs, new, old and very old antique but that is one of nicest, perhaps the nicest. Looks comfy too. Love the bendy rungs feature too (I wonder how long that will last). Interesting, very good insights communicated well - I will be looking for more from Peter Galbert. :)

That continuous arm chair is beautiful. I made one last week but is nowhere near as refined as this one. Really stunning work.
