It is late and I am scrolling because I can't sleep but I will definitely come back to this one because it is a craft I would like to do . Thanks 🙏

I was scrolling in the middle of the night when I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I hate nights like that! 😴

I do use a gripper frame and in my experience of learning punch needle , so much better than hoop . Thanks for showing how to make one .

You are so welcome! I don't see myself using anything else, but a gripper frame. It's so much better.

Thus is my first look into what it takes to do punch embroidery. It is a DIY blood sport😂 Thanks for sharing.

LOL, wow, good first impression huh? 😊 It actually took the skin off in 3 places on my fingers! I've made two other gripper frames and that didn't happen, so it had to be the way I was holding my hand while pulling the staples out. The first two times, I used a thick needle, this time I used a tool from my Silhouette Cameo. I suggest using a thick needle. :)

Thanks for the tutorial. I will have to check that out. I’ve looked at gripper frames and thought they were expensive.

I have to agree there. If you're willing to do a little work, this can save you lots of money!

@@PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts yes I am into so many different types of crafts I kept refusing to start rug hooking because of the cost, so I do appreciate your video.

Thanks for watching! Please leave a comment here. I like a gripper frame 100% better than using a hoop for punch needle. I'm glad to be able to make one that is affordable for me. I used 3/8" staples, and the gripper strip was a #5..

Be very careful how you hold your hand while pulling out the staples. When I made the first 2 frames, I used a thick embroidery needle and I didn't hurt my fingers at all.

Great video/tutorial. It does not look too difficult, but I'm not too sure about removing all those wires. TYFS (Pauline S)
@PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts4 жыл бұрын
It's not really hard to do that, since they're just like staples. You just have to be careful not to let your fingers rub on the metal like I did. That didn't happen on the first two frames I made.

Thank you for the tutorial! I paid way too much for my ready made gripper frame.

What brand of staple gun did you use? My husband has to staple for me , the one we have is so hard to use.
@PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't suggest using one like mine. It's very light duty and I had trouble with the staples not going in all the way.

Do you lean this type up against a table especially the big one wonder if a floor stand could be designed for it too. I need a big frame for rugs as I work in wool and it catches if the frame is too small. And that would be very unweildlyto hold
@PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts3 жыл бұрын
I use mine on my lap, because I turn it a lot, and I also like to flip it often to see my progress. I think The Old Tattered Flag sells one with a floor stand.
