Haven't seen one of those in mannny years.....That's my first leather project back in summer of '69 (Your's FAR superior!!...lol)....Bought a razor knife, small edger and hole punch pliers (still have 'em).....No stitching, brass rivets only with brass buckle....Used scraps of yellow latigo (popular back then)....Made wrist yellow for a month or so....Easy to wash off.....Then made a wallet, brass riveted, not sewn.....Several friends asked me to make watch bands and wallets for them.....A hippie-dippie leather business was born and got me thru 2 yrs of college...No rubber gloves, so my fingers on right hand were always dark yellow/brown stained from leather dye(didn't smoke, either)........Made the big bucks on handbags of my design--usually sold before I completed 'em or ordered & backlogged.....Kept it all simple....LUCKILY, really crude leathercraft sold back in the hippie days.....Never made much $$, BUT never missed a meal or a beer.....

@MrThumper1440
@MrThumper1440 5 жыл бұрын
It’s called an edge slicker....there are several different ways to “slick” the edge. Most use water or Tokonole to moisten the edge, then the wood edge slicker is rubbed vigorously until a desired finish is reached. There’s certainly more to it than that, but that’s the basic idea.

two questions: 1) is the pattern for this watch cuff going to be for sale? and 2) can you do a video about how you sharpen/polish your blades? my rotary cutter is less and less effective, but i use a stone and strop for my other blades and they’re terrible for the rotary wheel

Its just glue in a old Tokonole container... And Tokonole is a burnishing agent, to finish edges or flesh side of leather, no adhesive in it. Great stuff!

But I see you using a $200 plus Rode mic and except for around 0:50 sec in your video, you have hissing sound all the way in the video. I guess you noticed it too, it is pretty frustrating.
