There’s no doubt about it, you are talented and smart. This is one of the nicest saws I’ve ever seen. You can’t buy a better saw on the market today. But without sponsors, I couldn’t afford the plywood needed to build this. I wouldn’t want to use any other plywood though.

But my skill isn't as good as yours. By the way... the plans are excellent and very detailled and i give my character recommendations for it.
@Paoson_Woodworking
@Paoson_Woodworking 6 жыл бұрын
@tonit.6021
@tonit.6021 6 жыл бұрын
Saludos

I'm surprised you didn't use bearings for the side stops of the saw. They'll last longer than Teflon since they're made of steel and have zero friction on the saw blades given that they spin.

I am very impressed with the build. It looks amazingly sturdy for plywood. I do have a question: How do you maintain tension in the motor drive belt. To me it looks like you have two speed positions but neither the motor / gear or drive gears have movement to adjust tension. Presumably, this is not a problem. Cheers.
@Paoson_Woodworking
@Paoson_Woodworking 5 жыл бұрын
hello Peter, actually I only have one speed, but it's not a bad idea to have two. You could make a tiltable base for the motor, like I did on my homemade lathe: www.paoson.com/en/blog/lathe-disc-sander-n63

In recent years I owned a Jet bandsaw which had two speeds. I used the higher speed to cut wood and the lower speed to cut metal - with a change in blade of course. It’s not quite as good as a dedicated bandsaw for metal but in a home workshop makes it a versatile machine, being able to cut wood and also thin pieces of metal. Cheers.
