This is the first FalTac video I'd ever seen. Probably 2 months ago. Since then, I've bought a scroll saw, the same sander from Harbor Freight, and Arbor Press, a band saw, and even a motorcycle jack/metal pipes to build a press like yours. I just ordered brown Kydex from holstersmith to try my hand at the holster in this video...since it's the holster that inspired this new obsession!

Great walk through. You've definitely got that 'maker' mentality, and you know your tools as well as if you go to sleep holding them every night. Although, I'm not sure if anyone has told you this, but you don't have to own a separate drill for every drill bit you have. Figured someone would have mentioned that to you by now. Oh, and I've got $20 that says he knows his way around the kitchen too. If he can man-handle a Dremel tool as easy as an old-timer cutting slices of an apple with his pocketknife, you know he's got skills.

As a dude fed up with a particular company dragging their feet to make a light bearing model for my weapon, you make this look way easy and I'm still way intimidated. @@FalTacUnlimitedLLC Does one need a dummy weapon like that one you used in the vid, or is it safe to use my actual weapon? I don't know if you'll like the band saw as much as you think. The scroll saw chatters a bit but looks like you were doing some contored cutting? Maybe you can get the same thin blade on a band saw.? I'm sure you have it figured out. If so I probably need to do the same, I have a doall bandsaw, usually doing straight cuts, its just an optional piece of equipment I have in my machine shop. I'm gonna play around with some kydex, thanks for the info:)
@FalTacUnlimitedLLC2 жыл бұрын
I picked up a 1/4 wide 14 tpi blade and I only use the band saw for straight cuts. Much faster and accurate. Scroll is for bends and detail work
@madeconomist4583 жыл бұрын
I saw you drilling through the plate and marking the spots to drill with a white pencil. Might I suggest that instead of marking the spots to drill with a pencil, instead use an automatic center-punch? That way you've already started the drill, the drill bit is much less likely to "drift", and you won't risk marking up your plate.

Handsaw works good that's what I use but one caveat if your doing rmr ,lights the dremel with that expensive wheel (the industructabl blade) you'll use as much handsaw I like the 1/4" wide bands tried em all 1/2" etc... 1/4" works the best straight long cuts not intricate shit take the info how you want to each his own great vid!!

I got a question. I hope it’s answerable. Why don’t all holsters with a light have a positive click and or pop and is there a way to fix that?
@FalTacUnlimitedLLC Жыл бұрын
It truly is hard to get an audible click with some lights. It's all in the design of the light and holster blocking itself. The snap consists of the firearm spreading the kydex apart and then snapping in place one the gun is fully inserted. Which gives you the audible click. Most lights bearing holsters are friction retention. So far I've done pretty well with getting those clicks. I've since updated the tooling for this exact set up
