I love this video, That way you speak & you use your hands reminds me so much of Gina Johnson that you could almost be her. I adore what she does but you are so wonderful in a different way. I really LOVE every thing I see you do. You are so inspirational!!!

Love this process, I made a journal cover from black & white checked material from an op shop, I'm making a CHEAP TRICK junk journal, love this rock band, I gathered every known picture and scrapbook paper I had from my scrapbook days that resembled a rock theme, still making it, started 6 months ago and loving it. You could also gesso or mod podge newspaper onto Amazon paper to make it stronger. Love your channel. x

This video does help newbies feel like they can do it with what they have. I was thinking a small screwdriver for making holes would work.

Like an eyeglass one. That would def work.

For anyone who is a beginner, I highly recommend the scotch permanent glue sticks. Not the craft ones, the ones in office supplies that are in a red and white tube. They are not too expensive and hold up well. I have even attached lightweight fabrics with it. Make sure to cover your surface, for sure. I take issue with your comment that kids shouldn't be watching this. This is actually a great hobby for all ages an one you can share with your kids.
@hitherandyonstudio2 ай бұрын
KZbin turns off comments on videos made for kids as well as other legal complication which is why most creators mark their videos as not for kids. It’s semantics.

Wonderful ideas and tips. Thank you. Go back to 57:30 and look at your brown paper upper left side where you are adding paint. SEE the older male face ? Facial features and moustache. Pretty cool.

not weird but big brown postage envelopes, bubble wrap postage envelopes, fabric and use carpet tape to adhere, fabric table runners and placemats, pillow cases and sheets, old blankets, clothing, old jackets, hand towels, ......... the list is endless !! Also i put the paint or ink or crayon all over outside, let dry. Then i go over the whole outside with glue, let dry. Nice shiny finish. Box of crayons is excellent in place of distress ink and works so very well.

Thanks so much for doing this! I had fun working along with you. I love that you ask your followers and follow through so quickly! You are the best! This really helped me break through all the fears of fully starting a journal. So far, I've just been hoarding papers and trying to buy stuff to make the "perfect" journal. This made me realize i dont need to do that.

Good demo! For beginners, I have found from experience, that if making your own covers it is easier to make the cover fit the size of a folded sheet of standard copy paper (unless making a smaller journal) as it saves endless measuring and cutting signature papers to fit. It's much easier to make the one cover the right size than cut (and waste?) lots of excess strips of paper.

I love to save the plain backs of the napkins and scrunch it up on the cover with modpodge.then paint it with layers of colour and sometimes top it with gold. 😁😁 I just love brown paper and save every scrap here hahaha. In australia plastic bags have been replaced with paper ones. our local supermarket now has xmas printed ones, quess iwhat for I'll be using those 🤣TFS
