@grimbo63668 жыл бұрын
+Detman101 not denying that its cool, but it is not practical. ive been designing products using concrete recently, and it is very brittle when it is used like this.
@Harpazo_to_Yeshua7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, any material that is hard can be used as a handle and blade. How well will those materials hold up to really hard use over months depends on the type of materials and what you've done to/with them. I don't think the concrete would be great, like that handle, slamming it on the ground hard enough will break it in pieces. Do the same with most other knives today, they will not snap or break with a good slam on the ground. What this video shows is: *Where there's a will, there's a way.* really. It's showing that, imagining they ever tried to enforce the banning of knives, then only determined criminals would make them and use them in crimes. The laws would be pointless, since they're not actually stopping criminals, only stopping good citizens from carrying tools to protect themselves with, which is disgusting.

Reminds me of that story of a Inuit elder trying to escape forced relocation by the government. They took all his gear so that he couldn't travel in the snow and cold, so he made a knife from his own poop by letting it freeze in his hands, then he used his poop knife to kill a sled dog outside his igloo, made a sled from the dog's bones and hide, then hooked it to another sled dog and mush away into the night, never to be seen again.
I think Im more impressed with the fact you do not have a prosthetic hand rather that the knife. The knife is still really impressive. Interesting material source too

what about people who protect themselves with guns against rapists and home invaders? Cars kill far more than guns, should we ban cars despite the obvious consequences? do you ever think about consequences, or do you just want to legislate based on feelings and a couple of sad news stories? surely criminals will follow the law and just not own guns, just like law abiding citizens. you say you arent a dumbass...

‘Cave Beast Demon' I’m a little late but I’d like to say. I believe gun laws should be stricter but not as strict as most people want. Heavy background checks and no owning firearms for anybody convicted of a violent crime. And guns are required to be locked in a safe. With trigger locks. I know there are some flaws but That’s for people higher up to figure out. Keep in mind I’m a “gun nut” and I love guns and my family loves them and we have a lot of them.

Ok , this is really great. But unfortunately, only art . Every time someone builds a knife itself , and uses methods of metalwork, bring the iron to glow , or bring it to turn Blue original burn...., then the nonsense begins . If you so grinds or cuts iron it burns up , then burn the carbon content and the useless sword ! She is sharp. But they will quickly lose their sharpness , as it has become too soft. That can only be when the blade then again hardened.
@imdrunken9 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly.... Always use wet cutting tools and wry Sanders, if not available hacksaw and a file..... Or retemper it, but that's a pain if you don't know what your doing
@micromachine79549 жыл бұрын
trevor pierce this isn't a work knife, its more a showcase of skill or an artistic piece you can cut with...

@artsmith1009 жыл бұрын
Dynikus The paper cutting does, indeed, test the blade's sharpness, but not it's durability. If you're interested in understanding how blades are forged, and why they need to be heat treated (which is more than just tempering), I recommend The Complete Bladesmith, by Jim Hrisoulis.

Congratulations on a superior demo video! Everything was clear and well produced. I thought the concrete scales were clever and attractive. I'm grateful to you for saying what you needed to say at the end, and didn't waste any time saying nothing. While I suspect that your blade won't hold an edge for any length of time, as it was produced, it would be easy to add a heat treatment step in there after the grind. The fact that you could drill the steel so easily indicates that it wasn't very hard. Your grinder setup looks good, and I was also intrigued by what appeared to be a homemade drill vise. You're pretty resourceful! Thanks for a good teaching vid!
