This is my kind of channel. Making quality tools with metal and other materials. Too many people these days can’t do things like this. They don’t know how to use a metal lathe and other tools to accomplish quality results. Good work!

I had a sneak peak and I'm still blown away! The only thing cooler than the mallet is watching you make it - truly amazed by the variety of skills! And the Sub - Scribe was perfect touch!

I was so confused watching this.I was completely captivated but none of it was registering in my brain. When you started turning, I actually had to start all over because I thought it was leather and I had no idea you could sand or turn leather. I got further confused by the white plastic looking bar and the giant bar of soap. I understood NOTHING, yet I could not look away! That is how videos should be made!

I have made a maul with 3" nylon cylinder. but with wooden handle. I didn't know it can made of leather. I also made the same mistake, there shouldn't be a dome nut on top. It should be plain flat. b'se i didn't getba flat top bolt with 2" round plate😥 Have to make one more

A little late yet I have to ask, how much weight at the maul end did this end up being? Was it enough or did you re adjust the brass washers to adjust?

Great lathe work. I have a 12x36 wood lathe. I was going to get into metal lathing but things happen and time was not on my side. I continue to enjoy the wood lathe when I can. Very nice leather crafts mail. Did you build it for leather crafts or for sale?

I made one after this build. I feel like the one I made could use a steeper taper. Any idea what the normal angle of taper they are?

Honestly I don't have any tools to help measure mine. But you could check on Amazon at some mauls that are tapered and see the specs on them.
