Making a Leather Pouch

A simple leather pouch from reused leather. A few weeks back i found an abandoned TV chair next to a dumpster and decided to scavenge the leather for future uses.

Awesome.. I’ve just brought a leather lazy boy leather bed .. going strip the leather off tomorrow , going make a couple of tinder pouches and some sheaf’s for my knife and fold away saw .. I will attempt a bag , but I’ve never done any leather craft lol .. great vid thanks Chris & Sam

Actually had to google that, but yes; seems it is called blanket stitch.

Great one , but on the tip end where you stitch it ill put some super glue epoxy etc , the you have 100 % sure that it will stay longer safe :) regards from PL and as always admire :)

how do you measure the amount of wire you estimate will be required?

I remember reading somewhere that 4-6 times longer than the entire seam is about right. It also depends on how thick the leather is.

I have a small workshop (does not compare with yours) I also like to create things, to reform and build. Here in Brazil the tools are very expensive and with little variety. I am amazed with so many good tools available in your country. If I had all the tools you have, I would be a professional workshop.

Glad to have you around. Currently i can not afford my own shop so i make most of the projects in my parents garage. Some of the tools do not belong to me, some were given to me, others i found in dumpsters or flea markets. Over here some of the stationary tools i use are not even considered good quality so i can imagine the differences between our countries are huge. But…it's not the arrow it's the indian.

You should attach some D rings on the side you would be able to carry it with a shoulder strap

That could be an option yes. I use this to carry coffee and other small items inside my pack.
