So you've basically just made the frame of a CNC out of (mostly) LEGO. From this, you can flip it upside down and replace the magnet with a motor and drill bit to complete that, or if you mount that whole assembly higher, you can add a platform that moves along the Z-axis to make a 3D printer. I feel like the LEGO would melt if left near a hot end, though...

The one thing I'm curious about is how the metal parts and the plastic parts interact. I have seen cases where metal parts end up destroying plastic parts. Doesn't make much difference if it's just something short lived like I suspect this is. But if you set this up to continuously run, it could end up failing faster than you expect.

I have watched a few of your videos and am fascinated by the things you build with Lego! The moving ones are always more impressive, especially the ones with moving balls. But this one here has everything. Do you ever reveal the actual time spent building? Do you share your design thoughts and processes? Although I realize that you get sponsors donating parts etc. How much do you think it would cost to make, say, this sand drawing machine, or maybe something a little simpler?
