I am a forrest boy. I have heard some whispers about surf/skate culture but haven't ever gone close to it. Not that I would't like it (quite the opposite), just the circumstances were averse. But I've gone one step closer to this manner. I am liking it.

I love your work, do you need a specific type of wood and how thick should it be, and what is the best set of hardware (wheels plus). I want to make one for my son.

Thanks!!! Well, I made these without any technical knowledge about longboards. But half a year passed and still no complaints. Anyhow, I made the boards about 18mm thick. Used only hardwood and removed any potential cracking points like knots or crotches. Used d4 glue (for wet conditions). I used polyurethane lacquer to finish them. My friend provided me some wheels with all necessary hardware. I know nothing about this stuff, so I will not comment on this topic. But you can easily buy full wheel sets online. Good luck with your build!!!

thanks! from the first feel, the resin one was the sturdiest:) but that may also be a con instead of a pro. We will see, I ask my friend to abuse them without regrets:D

Jake Truong just texted the guy who owns it. He sad apart from the weight aspect (it’s a bit heavier than regular plywood board) everything is more or less fine. Just a grip could be better. But I made another version of these with crushed glass grip. That worked really well. I made a video making balance boards with same grip.

Hi there! Those were somewhere between 18 to 20mm in thickness. And they are still in one piece. One note though, that grip surface is needed. But I solved grip problem in later versions. You can check my video about making a balance board with crashed glass grip

congratulations, do you have a template for these models? what are the dimensions of each one?

I have plywood templates hanging on my workshop wall. But those won't help you much:D the shape is very simple and easily replicable though (starts from 5:09). I made all three lengths (80cm 90cm and 100cm) in one paper template by folding the straight part of the longboard shape.

I've been fascinated by the idea of making boards with epoxy resin, but I have a question. Does resin crack when you drill through it? Are there preparations for that? Or what

Epoxy more brittle in comparison with wood, but there no problem drilling it.

I am queries with the weight of each of them. I heard solid wood-made skateboards would be too heavy for skating. Would mixing resin with hard wood help to make the board lighter?

They all are on a heavy side. But it’s perfectly fine for longboards. If you are looking for skateboard for doing tricks, then this approach isn’t ideal
