Those trees look great Knarb. Nice work. I have to say that you're probably YTs foremost authority on using tech for crafting terrain and minis at this point. I love that your projects use a huge range of materials from traditional crafting supplies to hardware store materials. Also you use tools ranging from laser engravers, 3d sculpting and printing to table saws and jigsaws. Pretty freakin' resourceful. Forest settings were always my favorite environments for D&D campaigns. I haven't made anything like this for 40k but I'm a Dark Angel's guy so this would work great for the forests of Caliban. Well, back before they were turned into space debris... now I'm thinking about a 40k table made up of floating asteroid chunks .... hmmmm.... Thanks for another great video and congrats on hitting 50K subs.

One more quick question, what's your recipe for surfacing your terrain pieces... sorry the term is escaping me but, the stuff you'd use to cover foam cliffs or earth. It seems like you use plaster and pva for things like that... what's your approximate recipe?

What a beautiful piece! I can't get over how gorgeous this is! I love that you did your own laser cut and acid etched plants. A laser cutter is on my long list of crafting toys I want to buy in the long term haha. Which VR sculpt program do you use? I haven't done much sculping in my headset but I would love to spend a bit more time in there!
@KnarbMakes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Geordie! VR Sculpting is done in Adobe Medium, formerly called Oculus Medium. It's not as feature rich as Blender, but it lets you have layers and do voxel type sculpting on things. Can get quite resource intensive and my machine struggles sometimes with it at high resolutions.
@Geordiecrafts2 жыл бұрын
@@KnarbMakes cool! I'll have to give it go! I've only tried gravity sketch so far and that was only for a few minutes. I still plan on using blender for the majority of my models, but it would be nice to break up the work flow (and take some breaks from sitting) to bulk out some sculpts in VR 😁
