The ship shop needed a workbench, so I made a mobile anvil stand for our Lady Fisher. Seeing as the anvil is my favourite work space, I wanted it to be heavy duty enough to support the 265lb Fisher anvil, and moveable so I can stow it when not in use. We are in a tiny shop after all…

Špatný. Spousta materiálu a práce k ničemu. Pod kovadlinou má být špalek. Né bedýnka na posypový materiál. Not good. A lot of material and work for nothing. There should be a log under the anvil. Not a box for sprinkling material.

What a wonderful attitude. In fact. It works great. 2 years of forging/moving and 0 issues. Not a good comment. A lot of words and typing for sharing an opinion. Comment boxes not for trolls. Go make something.

I had to squelch several, “how does he know...?” throughout the video. The music, at dawn on a Sunday morning, was yummy. The ad for wrinkle reversal cream that popped up in the middle, not so much. How dare they! Amazing work. Love, Mom

Why not just when wanting to move it use a 2 wheel cart? Somewhere in the future we’re gonna need the metal you used and when the go a searching Fer it, it’ll be all wrapped around and rusted together with a hunk of rusting metal you call an anvil. Good lord think a thousand years in the future son. Fer PETA sake The thumbnail of it looks pretty….its a pretty anvil stand 😆 🚶🚪🦕

Oh, and just a note/opinion: I've worked with 4 different planers over the years. 2 Dewalts that broke after a few big runs, an old Delta that was unkillable but not great when it came to sniping the ends, and this Ridgid (two different shops). I have yet to have issues with the ridgid.
@Matthew-ir1ed
@Matthew-ir1ed 4 жыл бұрын
@@skullandspade I've always been happy with ridgid as a brand, I have yet to have a single one of their tools die on me. That said, if that planer ever kicks the bucket, you should look into Magnum Industrial (if you can get them, I think they're a Canadian brand?).. they've got four posts just like the DeWalt so snipe is kept to a minimum, and they come standard with a helical carbide head

Ok, I was completely on board until I saw you didn't secure the top down, it's only seated by gravity and we all know there is no such thing as gravity, the Earth sucks. Seriously, that's an accident waiting to happen. Just can't get on board with a design like that. You need to secure it so it cannot come off at an importune moment and break your leg or crush your foot. No, I'm not from a small town in Wisconsin. Just seen too many things that "Could possibly be a problem" I have visited all those people in the hospital and put money in the collection plate for them at church and work. "You hear about Bobby?" "No what?"I askes, "That thing he came up with fell over and he's all messed up gonna be out of work for at least two months." You can't fix stupid but you can put money in the collection plate for them and go cut their grass for them until they can walk again.

At the very least, there should be a "0" after that 5 in the subscribers count Captain. The pieces you produce with common tools shows that it can be done, and cone wonderfully. You truly inspire me brother. And that squeeze-box musical accompaniment was spectacular! Thank you Brett...honest.

Everything's a workbench? Or something... It's a fantastic addition to the ship shop! Totally fits your aesthetic while doing all the things. And of course the rope! Beautiful.

Well it really is a blacksmiths workbench. So you're definitely correct on calling it a workbench. Looks good. Without the anvil you could use it as a trashcan or a coal bucket.
