I think the reason the first two games didn't work, is because the DS doesn't have "hot-swap" functionality for the cartridges, i.e., you have to turn it off, insert the cartridge, and then power on the device. That's why the third one _did_ work. I remember this well because I recall being impressed by the DSi's ability to hot swap while on.

I was about to post this. Original and DS Lite usually crash if you insert or remove a cartridge while they're on. Only DSi and 3DS let you insert a game AFTER you turn the console on.

One thing I hate about modern tutorial videos is that they show a montage, and/or cut to a finished product. Then SAY they went through a lot of bs to get it made. But here, we watch Peter assemble this project by hand, and talk down to us, and the intention behind his plans, and his mindset behind troubleshooting techniques, and we are just as nervous as he is because he could make a mistake. It’s truly much more fulfilling when he succeeds.

10:59 Peter that's not how it works on a DS Lite, you need to power it off, then insert the cartridge and then power it on... It's not automatic like any other DS out there.
