If it helps for starting you can pop the little spring out of a pen and use it to keep the thread even and together when you start weaving . just put it up near the push pins at the top and bottom of the loom and put a toothpick thru it . tape the toothpick to the frame and when you put the warping thread on put one thread on each spring section(between each ring). A bamboo skewer and a couple springs for bigger projects . Hope that's clear....LOL! Great idea with the frame!!

I have been wanting to make my own for a while but I was stuck on how to get the spacing right, you are a genius!

Hi, excellent budget beading idea! I have all those things at home & I bet others do too, then all you'd have 2 buy is needles/thread/beads. Taping a line of beads down as a "spacer coil" is excellent too & could work w/the "shoebox" loom instead of doing the cutting of notches 4 a kid's 1st loom. Unfortunately I am using my picture frame 2 try & make an earring holder w/screening etc. Thanks 4 gread vid.

They make larger pushpins. Wouldn't they help to lift the loom? Could stick them in for stability.
