Every time I do something in my own shop I hold myself up to Craig standards, and sadly I can almost never say that I come close. It's not just no fear of failure, it's amazingly skilled hands and genius levels of general knowledge that make you so formidable, not to mention the little tools you build like the sanding jig or even the lathe chisel rest. They seem so simple yet they represent a level of thought that eludes me most of the time. I'm happy to contribute baubles like the shifter knob bases whenever I can: my reward is watching you in action.

I think the one you showed in close-up first, the one with the Brazilian Leopardwood, was my favorite as well. The texture in your darker wood is really cool, and I like how the texture got flipped around the central walnut banding. I'd probably still try to keep compatibility with the rubbery shift knob just so you can switch over to it if necessary or if the preference hits you to have that shift knob instead.
@ThrottleStopGarage2 жыл бұрын
I've got several options. We'll see how it all comes together when I hit that stage. When the interior goes in, that's when some of these ideas shine (I hope).
