I’ve definitely had my own scaling issues with helmets I try to make. I try to cut the flawed ones back into pieces and try to reuse the foam. I feel horrible if I throw out foam 😂

It was a frustrating week for sure. But sometimes the repetition helps make the end result better. I really hope it makes this helmet more accessible for people. I definitely went through my fair share of foam on this build

The thumbnail photo does not do this awesome helmet justice! Awesome build! I would recommend weathering it with black acrylic paint mixed with rubbing alcohol and some silver sharpy marks to ilude to some paint chiping off the metal. But over all a bad ass build!

Thanks. I will probably dirty it up at some point. The thought is to do it at the same time as the rest of this cosplay build, so it's cohesive

I have those templates and they are great! So thank you for that. Is it normal for you to make more than one or two of something before you nail it down?
@MuchProps Жыл бұрын
It doesn't happen often for myself just because of the way I make my patterns, but it does happen occasionally. After 100s of builds, you get pretty good at eyeballing stuff.
@carlpowers7291 Жыл бұрын
Hello again. I downloaded these templates because I really like the end result and there’s not 100 different templates for this like I’ve seen before. I’m enjoying building it. I think that you did a great job! I do have a question and I’m almost afraid to ask. I’ve noticed that the templates have thick lines that make up the shape of the template. Should I cut these off or leave them on the template?
@MuchProps Жыл бұрын
The lines are thick because I make my templates by hand, running a chisel tip sharpie on the edges. The outside of that thick line is where you want to be tracing, so no, don't trim them off. Let me know howbit goes. I love seeing these patterns getting put to good use.
@carlpowers7291 Жыл бұрын
@@MuchProps I feel like an idiot. I just realized that I asked you the same question two separate times. Please forgive. I was involved in an explosion while I was in the Army and in Afghanistan. I’m basically ok but my memory slips.

@CinnamonFlavoredBismuth2 ай бұрын
Is there a way to get the lines in the helmet without burning it or is that the only way?
@MuchProps2 ай бұрын
@CinnamonFlavoredBismuth you can score it with a hobby knife, but it won't be as wide. You could also fake the lines by painting them on.

I really wish that someone would make a decent old school Snake Eyes helmet. I can make the armor myself but I just am not used to creating a helmet from scratch. I’ve seen some using either a 3-D printer or pepakura. I don’t own a printer and I don’t really like pepakura.
