Күн бұрын

This has been a project I've been wanting to do for a LONG time. I started making some pieces over a year ago and finally managed to getting around to finishing if off!
I think it's going to be a great table to play some Middle Earth: Strategy Battle Game on ... or any game really that has your brave adventurers travelling through a rocky forest!
These are the trees I used on this layout:

@@KnightsOfDice No, it really isn't, for better and for worse I'm not sure. I grew up in the hobby with your channel and others (like terranaholic, kamloopian, btp, mwg) as a staple. As a country kid KZbin was my connection to the community so that's why I started a channel. You really laid the groundwork for what the hobby is now and It makes me really happy to see how well you've adapted your format for current KZbin.

If you paint the interior of the holes the same color as the surrounding it makes them less visible. I loved the vid, beautiful work, great informative content.

If you put your sculptamold in a cake iceing bag you can use it like filler out of the gun. That would allow you to have the same material for a leapord spot that looks cohesive.

@snaithiusproductions8445
@snaithiusproductions8445 Жыл бұрын
@@KnightsOfDicesorry to jump on this old comment but I was looking incase someone had already asked about the bases. Does the MDF warp? Did you have to seal it or anything? I'm about to pull the trigger and buy some custom cutout mdf boards to the size of templates that I've designed. But having a panic that they'll end up warped.
@KnightsOfDice
@KnightsOfDice Жыл бұрын
@@snaithiusproductions8445 warping can be a factor to consider, especially when using products that shrink when they dry, like excessive PVA or modelling compounds with water and plaster. It really is only a problem if the MDF base you are using has large empty spaces. For those kinds of bases, I do sometimes screw them down to a big board making sure I can easily remove the screws after. A video on the topic might be beneficial. Cheers

@KnightsOfDice

What did you use for the flat bases for the hills? It seems thin but it didn't warp.
@KnightsOfDice
@KnightsOfDice 2 жыл бұрын
Just 3mm MDF. I think for this project, as I was using a lot of plaster compound, I think I might have screwed them down to a larger, thicker board (which I don't think I showed in the video), did my texturing, let them dry and then touched up the small holes after I removed the screws

Rubbish was great, but, now I've just subscribed here. It was your initial demos of Spectre Version One that got me interested in tabletop gaming. I've since done a ton of 54mm terrain building. A great hobby during a pandemic, let me tell you. I'm studying the V2 rulebook, but, you have a way of making certain games seem easy. I've nagged you before about the possibility of some Version Two demos, as the game has changed/improved regarding Suppression, eliminating points for building armies, etc. Life is busy, but, here's to hoping that you can share some more Spectre wisdom, as I continue to learn the game. Cheers!

Version 2 is certainly better, I've only played it all little and I still have some reservations about suppression. The layout of the v2 rulebook is great though. It will feature soon, along with a few other games so stay tuned!
