Those graphical effects look spot on! They fit the theme of the game perfectly so they don't feel like unnecessary, overdone bling. As somebody who's just starting out with Bevy, I really appreciate that this sort of thing is happening in the public space and I can learn a lot from the code.

I was worried some were excessive but I was just having fun playing with shaders. Thank you and I hope you enjoy learning Bevy!

373 seconds first try. The last level was the easiest, I guess cause I was more used to the controls.

Nice work! All the screen effects look great and it fits the theme very well. Coyote time and input buffering would have been nice to have - I had to throw in the towel on that last jump on the spinning level 🙁 But it was still fun to play, congrats on the submission!

Yeah the spinning level was pretty brutal. Thanks for checking it out! I had the layout for coyote time set up but the weekend was busy and it got cut.

Just some feedback about the game: 1. This one could be preference, but use a pixel font next time! lol The game is pixel art, so it's pretty jarring to not see a pixel font in my opinion. 2. The platforming actually felt really good. The character controller felt pretty similar to Mario 1 starting off, which was awesome. All I'd suggest when it comes to that is to add a jumping and sliding/skidding animation to the character, even something simple like his arm going up for jumping and his eyes changing or maybe the hat slipping off his head for the slide. The controller doesn't feel very responsive because when I'm sliding and unable to jump; it still feels like I should be able to jump since the character hasn't changed. I know you said you'd have improved the art with more time; I just personally think you could have implemented two extra variations just to add more visual responsiveness to the controller; as it hurts the overall experience a little bit. 3. The dialogue was a bit long for the level of simplicity of the story. The web port doesn't show all of it in a single dialogue window. I'd recommend either drawing little visual guides that appear to help with storytelling (something like an *!* or *?* above the player's head) or just make the dialogue shorter. Game was fantastic and I loved playing it. Keep it up man!

Hey! Loved the game and that uv/shader manipulation gave it those sweet enhancements. I see you have previous bevy 2d tutorials but were you ever planning on making a bevy 0.10 one? Anywho, loved the video!

Thank you so much! I think I'm planning on more tutorials around 0.11. I'm spending the 0.10 cycle making things with Bevy

Gosh, that’s a nice game idea. It was mostly fun too. I have the feelings that most bevy apps are a bit laggy regarding input. I don’t know if it’s just a feeling or really the case.
