could i possibly order just a neck like this? I have a bolt on neck guitar and would love this style more than mine. How much would it cost? Do you also pain and stain them?

Chris did you have your 12 th fret be the perpendicular fret! For 7 string what was the width aat the 1st fret?

What size fret caul do you use since the radius increases with the scale offset?

Like the head design. Seen something similar on another manufacturers site but they also built in a aluminium laminated layer to prevent the head twisting/breaking. Have you had any issues with it doing that and how long have you made that design for? Many thank.

No issues that I am aware of, however, I no longer make that design. It's too dated IMO.

What's the size of the bit on the CNC machine? Since the slots for the frets should be around 0.6mm wide I'm wondering if there is a router bit that's so small. Besides that you're doing an awesome job! Going to start my own build soon and your videos help a lot :)

It's a .023" diameter, solid carbide, 2 flute, spiral upcut end mill. And they are available in much smaller sizes.

When working out the fan ( say you're using the 7th fret as the midpoint for the multiscale frets) is it as simple as marking out the top and bottom scales then lining up everything in between?

I use this online calculator to layout the fretboard for multiscale: www.ekips.org/tools/guitar/fretfind2d/ Under "scale length," select "multiple." Under "perpendicular fret distance" click the question mark and enter the number that corresponds with the fret you want to use as the midpoint.

Did you ever have a truss rod rattle? Twice I put nothing in the channel to prevent rattle, twice it did rattle. I do very tight channel. Yours seems to be loose enough to cause rattle. Last time I covered the whole 2-way truss rod with another heat shrink tubing, wich also prevents it from the glue.

Never had rattle.

Where did you get the CNC machine from? Also how much did you pay for it? Is that Dewalt router you’re using in it?...

How do you know where to pit the frets in and the slant and the straight fret an all of that?

How do you make your home made radius sanding blocks accurately for doing the fretboards? They are relatively expensive to buy. Thank

I have a CNC machine. I'm about to use it to make a 30" long, 12" radius sanding block.

Yes, I suddenly realised that’s what you probably did. Thanks.

did you radius the fretwire perpendicular to the fretboard? or did you need to take into account the additionall radius added by the fan?
@HighlineGuitars7 жыл бұрын
I radius perpendicular. Trying to take into account the fan of the frets would be an exercise in unnecessary futility which might lead to insanity and death.

Highline Guitars thanks for the reply! I suspected that's probably how you would do it :)

Try a different browser. I use Chrome. The save buttons should be on the right side of the page.
