ooh,I had seen these but not with the different angle faces, mine were sharpened to have 30 degree bevels on each side. I will have to try your version! thank you, well done and beautiful file work.

Excellent video, it has all it needs. The explanation of the steps and the use of the tool. Thank you very much. W1 is extremly hard to get in Europe. I don't know a single source in Germany and countries where I buy my knife steel. The only source that I know is NJ steel baron in NJ, USA and even there W1 is out of stock most of the times. Silver steel is an excellent choice and I would even say O1 tool (1.2842) can be used as well. Silver steel is only available in round stock where O1 is available in many dimensions.

Can you tell me please, what kind of black mass is used to fix material which are you working on? Is that asphalt? Thank you very much.

Thank you for your presentation. It's very helpful indeed. Do you recomend Chromium Vanadium (CrV) steel like in allen hexagonal keys?

Hi Jack, I use a very simple W1 steel. This a basic carbon tool steel that is very straightforward to heat treat and harden in water. More complex steel tend to require more exacting processes.
