A great show and a wealth of information and good solid design ideas. I did have to laugh when you said you had the Veritas jig and it was expensive. Ya think????? It has Veritas stamped on it and so of course it's expensive. I just chuckled at that one. A great use of shop stock and the trick to using the bearings with a 3/8" center with 1/4-20 bolts was terrific. This was a terrific video. Can't wait for next week. take care and have a wonderful week.

That Veritas jig is very pricey but it's also pretty awesome. This shop made version is also pretty awesome and does an incredible job as well. Thanks for tuning in this week and for the kind words.

Wow! Ken, that is one "sexy" chisel sharpener! Seriously I've put off buying (because I'm so cheap) a sharpening guild. I use the trial-and-error method to sharpen my chisels, by hand and bad eye so it's a 50/50 chance of getting it right. That said, I think I can muster up the materials in my shop to build your little wonder! Thank you as always Miss Ellie and myself! P.S. Back story, we've been making small projects for Christmas presents, so Miss Ellie asks if I think everyone would like one of these for Christmas... You wanna give this one a shot... Sir answer man?

I don't think this is a gift for "everyone" but for those who are into woodworking or have chisels or plane blades that they need to sharpen from time to time, this would be a great gift and I think they would love it. I'd love to see some of your Christmas gift creations. You can email me some pictures at kennye@acutabovewoodworkings.com. Thanks for tuning in Ellie. I'm glad that you're part of the audience.

Very nice Kenny, all those inch-measurements and numbers adds to the fun of building it myself, after buying the nuts and bolts in mm 😂. Why didn't you use bolts with nylon inserts?
@acutabove_woodworkings3 ай бұрын
Whether you are using imperial or metric hardware isn't important. It's the methods that matter in this case and you can use whatever hardware that you have. I didn't use any nylon inserts because I didn't have any and was trying to use things I already had in the shop. Kind of a "trash to treasure" kind of build. I hope this helps. Good luck on your build and thanks for tuning in Peter.
