I bring a trash bag, stowaway lure case and a telescopic fishing rod in my backpack to the water and that gives me all the freedom I want plus no one even knows I'm going fishing.I really like your videos and your brilliant ingenuity! The best part about fishing is enjoying it with someone and competing with them to see who catches more.

I started fishing when I was about 5 years old. I still remember my first reel. A zebco 33 on a tiny pole. I'm 25 now and I still enjoy going fishing with a minimum amount of tackle. I love being by the water and being able to clear my mind.

Great video mate. I also gave up lugging gear about, and opted for a tiny bag that straps around my waist. Contains everything I need, and allows me the freedom you mentioned. I’ve also tried to take my fishing back to where it all began as a kid.
@PaulAdamsTheHandmadeFisherman6 жыл бұрын
where i fish the kids don't carry any tackle with them they expect us old gits to supply them with floats, hooks and weights. At one of the local lake i used to carry a little packet with a float and rig to hand out to them on the condition they would agree to fish up the other end of the pond

😂 I only fish lures now. The freedom to have everything I need in a tiny bag makes fishing fun. I cover so much water, and walk miles.

I would sure like to try make one of those. Very clever idea. I done a similar thing but for course and carp but with a fisherman's freinds can. I think that I seen that in one of your videos. Just Awsome. Can't stop watching your videos over and over. Just so interesting.

Great idea. We used to use old sucrets (throat lozenges) boxes to carry a minimum of gear with us. Altoids boxes work well too! A fun challenge to limit yourself to just a few lures to fish with!

i did for a long while when i was sea fishing in a boat mark down my catches on a photocopied chart, these days its all logged on the fish finder, but it can be a bit depressing if you have an actual record of your catch rather than exaggerated one you remember and tell other people, cheers

Ye. I agree. To be honest as much as i think all this new fishing tech is great. I prefer to stick to old traditional tactics. So much simpler and way more reliable. Thanx for replying to my comments. Its nice to speak to the man him self. Thank you. ;)

Great fun project mate. I really got into this condensing stuff into a tin once, i had so many tins i forgot what was in them all. What you put in this one i suppose depends on your favourite fishing. I'd start with a float and a few tied hook lengths and some preserved maggots and plastic corn. A drop shot rig might be good. Enjoyed watching thanks.
@PaulAdamsTheHandmadeFisherman6 жыл бұрын
i have got into the multiple tins thing, just behind my chair i have four altoid tins and Fisherman's friend tin and little idea what is in them, i did make a Dropshot fishing kit in one of them, which i often take trout fishing as a last resort as well as the odd perch trip, cheers

Cool idea! I carry a lot of crap fishing and probably only fish with a 1/4 of it. Only suggestion is you could add a screw on cap fitting and it'd help keep it from spilling out if dropped or carried in something.
@PaulAdamsTheHandmadeFisherman6 жыл бұрын
one of lads in work suggested that as well, i don not think it would be hard to do when i get a moment, but as yet i have never had a can kit open, i think because the insert is trying to expand so it always makes a nice tight fit, cheers

I think I would touch-up the edge with permanent marker to hide the aluminum edges at the cut. It's a great place to carry a lighter, a knife or snips, a few weights and hooks,and lures. Perfect!

Hi there from Europe. I'm 51 and a few years back rediscovered the joys of boyhood fishing in the Tarn Gorge in France. There was a fly rod which had been in the shop for years and I snapped it up wih locally effective flies. I have caught a few Rudd but the main quarry in the Tarn is Barbel. My problem is driving with a collection of garden worms and keeping them fresh between Bavaria where i live and s France. How would you do that?

Love clever kits of all sorts. I built your Altoid tin kit from years ago, and am sure I'll do this one too. Just confirming: You are using CA glue aka "super glue" and spraying CA glue accelerant to set it quickly?
@PaulAdamsTheHandmadeFisherman6 жыл бұрын
yes the glue is ca based with a spray can of kicker, this stuff in the uk is often sold as mitre adhesive, i have used 5min epoxy and one time i used polyurethane adhesive and have never had a problem, cheers
