It's a good sampler, but with those minipads I can't handle myself, for finger drumming, I sold the SP404mk2 to get the MC-707 and it's perfect for finger drumming. Also the MC 707 reminds me a lot of the E-Mu SP1200, but with that step sequencer on the panel there is no color, with many more controls on the panel and 8 faders the truth is that I much prefer the MC-707 much more expensive, but much more powerful with its Zen-Core synth. Thanks for the video, I loved this machine when I had it.
@Nonjuror Жыл бұрын
I definitely see the advantage of the 707 layout for finger drumming, two rows of pads makes much easier access for two hands. Plus, yeah, the faders / knobs experience on gear there’s no substitute for. Cheers!

I’m a longtime Maschine user. Been contemplating a standalone beat machine for years. What you think about the SP? Is it easy to pitch and time stretch samples? Doing it on Maschine is stupid af and Native Instruments should’ve fixed it years ago.
@Nonjuror2 жыл бұрын
I think pitch shift / time stretch is pretty easy to do on the MK2, I like being able to grab samples from different places n make them fit. Never used Maschine so I dunno if it’s better, how does it do it?

BUG ISSUE: I’ve seen a few times on Reddit so not isolated to just me. It’s a rather big bug but probably not notice because a lot of users aren’t using the export project/import project function that much - so it’s going under the radar. If you export a project then you try to import it into a pad slot it doesn’t work...sometimes. And sometimes it does work... and sometimes it doesn’t but it’ll work if you try a different slot. The issue has a second tier - When it doesn’t work it still creates a space on the pad you imported to. When you go to “delete project” and try to delete it it doesn’t delete...kinda...It does delete the information but it doesn’t delete the light indicator until you power off on the unit and delete project again...sometime. Lol So basically it works but it’s not stable.

Apologies if this questions was already asked. But can you record from like a KZbin video directly to the 404? Fire beat btw
@Nonjuror2 жыл бұрын
Nope, first time! Yeah, easily. When you connect the mk2 to your computer or ipad or whatever it can be selected as the audio interface for that device, this then means it’s receiving the audio from anything (youtube, netflix…etc) directly.

Haha been rocking that Tool Schism shirt for a long damn time… I did sample directly into the 404, does do at a kind low volume tho - my deck should have an amp after it. @@Nonjuror Yeah man, its dope as hell reverses from the play head so you can extend notes if the sample isnt hitting right

Ahh I get you, good point! Legit there’s no substitute for the 202/303 combo.

Nice beat!! I have seen other videos, and your bass drum is quite powerfull. Is this bass drum included in this Sp404?

HOW did you do the PAD LINK ? I wanted to learn layer sounds
@Nonjuror2 жыл бұрын
Easy, Shift + Pad 7 to open the Pad Link screen, choose a pad link group n hit whatever pads you want joined together.

How did you connect the turntable? Via a dj Mixer or phono pre-amp? Or direct in?
