Using grit seems like a nice area for me to start with. I wanted to get into the stone sphere making but investing in all the different bits or segmented bits, core bits or diamond brazed bits seemed overwhelming. Thank you for enlightening me!

You can do it! Best of luck. It takes a lot more time but on the end of the day its worth it

What are the uses of these marble balls? What are they used for and how to use it??

I personally use them as decorations. The smaller ones are often used in jewelry.

Mind-blowing bro.....what is the max size you can polish like this?
@gemstoneslapidary6828 ай бұрын
Good day my friend, the largest I have made up to now is about 95 mm, I am going to attempt to go up to 150 mm but this will be pushing the limits on the wiper motors. I will have to tilt all x3 grinding cups a bit down to help support the weight of the sphere. Where the actual limit is I can not say at this stage, going to 200 mm (8 inch) will definitely require a larger machine, the torque required will be to much for the wiper motors.

@@gemstoneslapidary682 Jip...it seems like one has to test to see what is the maximum weight. Maybe one will need larger grinding cups👍

Yes my friend, I will most probably have to go to 2 1/2 to 3 inch pipe fittings, definitely larger grinding cups

What torque and speed are your motors rated as?
@gemstoneslapidary6823 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam, the RPM is about 60 rpm. I use 3 of exactly the same wiper motors. You can use any 3 wiper motors that have the same speed, you will however need a 12V power supply. The motors are cheap and its easy to get 3 at a scrap yard or from a auto spares shop.
