Making a “Sunday Supper” Turkey Meal

Just a laidback Sunday where I stay in my pajamas all day until dinner time. I made a “Sunday supper” with turkey, stuffing, corn from my parents garden as well as sweet potato casserole and a box mac n cheese (there’s a story behind that! Watch to see!). For dessert I made a dump cake cobbler. It was a nice evening with family.
The turkey I made was so big we ate part of it the first night then froze half of the breast. Some of the leftovers I made into turkey and gravy over bread for the next day. I put the carcass into the crockpot and got some wonderful broth as well as extra turkey from off the bones, which I made into chicken salad (I mean turkey salad) and turkey noodle soup for my ill son.

I've never made a Turkey in a bag before. Is it extra moist? Is that the reason to do it?

Turkey tends to dry out and the bag helps it to retain its moisture. It self bastes the turkey so you don’t have to. Using a bag also cuts down the cook time. That bird was huge so I’m glad I eventually found my cooking bag! 😊
