Thank you! Very informative video. Laughed when you said excuse your mess. Oh my. We are all way worse than that! I need to learn to make bases.

That machine is darling and how clever to use the tubing as the belt.

Just now watching some of your new videos. Daughter got married a few weeks ago❤. That was a lot of work. Now, back to my sewing machines. You are really lucky to find such a beautiful, old, complete machine. Thanks for showing us!

I love that machine. It is in my cart. I have been loving watching your channel. I have restored a few vintage machines. I don't have a place where I can paint them, so this beauty will adorn my collection. Thanks for doing these. Yes. Fish tank tubes will work as SM belts.

Love your idea of the vinyl tubing as a replacement belt. I was wondering if you can use electrical wire heat shrink tubing to seal it as well for extra strength.

Ingenious! Couldn’t you instead use a thin piece of plywood to cover the opening? It’s rigid & would provide a stable surface. You could easily add screws to the corners, too. Just a thought.

I could of I wasn't going to be folding the lid closed. That would look nice.

That ingenious 😊. Too bad I just don’t have the space to get a treadle sewing machine.

A good way to trim the band weld excess is a nail clipper.

Awesome idea to use a polyurethane belt. Any need to be concerned about excess wear on the balance wheel bushing from an overly tight belt?
@prometheansewingmachines Жыл бұрын
I really don't think that the amount of tension on the belt will do any excessive wear. At least for the way I have it set up. :)

Hi, I was wondering when you said you could remove the piece on the side of the Singer cabinet. Doesn't it cause the treadle to actually move? I am trying to put a different machine in my cabinet but the little knobby thing is preventing the machine from sitting flush. Can you help??

as a straight Aussie male, I am a fan of the original black& gold beauty. This is definitely NOT my machine.. .lol .... That said, I can't help but appreciate the exquisite beauty of your creation here. . I see this machine being infinitely more attractive and enticing to a seamstress/dressmaker. . It calls out to a lady, to bond with it and create items of fabric beauty. It is a creative masterpiece, and I am truly impressed, ,... WELL DONE.

Thank you straight Aussie male. And the main thing is that it works now! :)

Thinking about it, it seems to me it would be better to sew the treadle belt instead of stapling it. Could I be 150 years out of siync

Is there a best source of treadle machines? Thanks Wait, are the machines on your site for sale? Are they fully functional with accessories?
@prometheansewingmachines Жыл бұрын
Hello, the machines that are listed on my site for sale are for sale! I can't say that I have a lot of accessories for them. I think treadles are fabulous machines though.

Why not get a piece of thin plywood to cut and go in that opening easier to cut to size
