Hi Chris. I think I have mentioned this before but going to say again to try and get you to try it. Drill a hole in each corner of the slab. Bevel the hole with a larger drill if you plan on surfacing. Take the slab over to the cnc. Put a longer screw in each corner and just screw that slab down! The slab will never move or come lose now and it takes just a minute! It is way easier and better than using those clamps. I know it is hard the first time you do it because your putting a hole in that perfect piece of MDF. You can put a hole lot of holes in there before you have to replace it. For two sided you can use the dowel method and drill a couple dowel holes in the MDF. Your alignment will be perfect every time! You will be much happier!!

Hot glue works really well for holding your work pieces to your waste board.

The CNC operations are my favorite videos that you make. On the subject of wood, is it becoming harder to find blanks that are large enough to make one piece bodies? And is there any difference or advantage tonaly in using a one piece body? Looking forward to the next one.

The only differences is the cost and availability . A one piece can be more expensive and depending on the species, they can be hard to find. In a solid body electric guitar, the tone comes from the pickups, not the wood. That being said, I love one piece bodies.

Do you have a G-code for those clamps? Or a svg file? By the way, I love the CNC advice you talk about clamping. I'm totally jealous of such a great machine. As always, Rock-On!

It just occurred to me today, what do you do with the cut-offs? This is only ash, but I've seen you use some rather expensive wood in past builds. They'd be great for wood turners and other small projects. I hope they don't end up in the garbage.

I make projects for family and friends with some of the scraps. The cheap stuff ends up in the fireplace.
