O k So now for my dumb questions. Am I understanding the video right is the suction on this table zoned? If I'm understanding it right you can run suction to only a part of it at a time if you want or the entire area if you need it. I like it as this was what I was thinking of doing after watching several videos on here about how to build one. I was thinking of several layers that the air would be pulled through as it worked its way around the table. But I wasn't sure how to form these channels in a round or square grid. and 2 to 3 layers on top of each other as it pulled from the outside in or from center as it worked out. Any advice on this would be very good. Good video!!!

Great vaccum plenum who's inspired me ! What's the size of your gasket (or the size of your channel grid) ?
@ralfklaassen9 жыл бұрын

Hi Ralf, what is reading on your vacuum gauge when you using your table? I made similar table and i have similar vacuum pump but when vacuum is not perfect (less than 30 inch/hg) vacuum pump makes loud noise and starts smoking after a while... So i don't know... bad pump or bad gasket? Did you have that problem? Thanks!
@ralfklaassen9 жыл бұрын
Yes the pump smokes a bit when your oil level is above middle. but it makes almost no noise.. its verry quit.. so thta i dont know. last week i used the pump for 3,5 hours straith and no problems. the vacuum reading is verry different from the material used.. plastics i have -0,8 to -0,9 bar .. if i use wood it can suck treu the wood and give a bit les reading.. 0,5 below i will not thrust it anymore and use a clamp(s) also

@ralfklaassen8 жыл бұрын
+Simon Capriles its HDF High-Density Fibre board or HDF board is pressed with a high density. HDF is not a brand name, but generic. The wood fibers are dried and connected by means of resins with each other. This is in contrast to hardboard, wherein the wet fibers are pressed.its oil-temppered.

Kunststofversie was best last vanwege smeltend materiaal.
@ralfklaassen7 жыл бұрын
HDF is echt GEWELDIG spul.
@frankv38647 жыл бұрын

Nice work! Is it possible to do the same with MDF board ?
@blakelibby21408 жыл бұрын
ShaggyRmz Yes it's possible but I wouldn't recommend it. MDF board allows airflow to flow through the board which defeats the point of milling all the vacuum slots. Usually you have a vacuum table like shown and put MDF board on top, then add your material to the top of that to route. This way, you can cut through the material into the MDF board and not damage your vacuum table.
@ShaggyRmz7 жыл бұрын
I'll try to make MDF vacuum table cause there is no HDF in such thickness and i saw some other guys making table out of MDF so Ill gave it a try... if that does not work ill buy Aluminium table... :) Thank you for answer !
@blakelibby21407 жыл бұрын
HDF board isn't the only material you can use either. Some hard composite materials will work fine like Phenolic. Either way, pretty sure you would be wasting your time on the MDF vacuum table.
